A look into my Craft Room

I'm a sucker for a nice craft room, and luckily we have an extra room to spare right now, since I don't have any little ones yet. I know one day that will hopefully change so now I'm determined to have an awesome craft room because I'm sure sooner or later I won't have room for one anymore.
So here's a recent project I did that I am absolutely in love with and I strongly believe every good craft one show have one. On top of its usefulness, it also takes up very little space as well keeping everything very organized AND extremely easy to see and get to fast when your looking for something.

Here it is : Craft Peg Board

Cute right?

Here's what you need:
-Old Frame
-Paint for the Frame
-Peg Board Cut to the size of you frame
-Paint for the Peg Board
-Strong glue (gorilla glue)

I got a bunch of the very large frames from my dad that he had lying around his shop (lucky me huh?) My desk in my craft room is black so I first I painted the old Large frame completely black.
Next I choose a teal/blue color for the peg board. I got my peg board from Home Depot in the pre-cut sections of wood for only $5. I had them cut it even smaller to fit the size of my frame (which they do for free just have your measurements) Since spray paint has a tendency to just soak into the press board that peg board is made from, I first coated it with a white primer before actually spray painting it blue.

After waiting until the frame and the peg board is completely dry, I then put a small line of glue around the entire inside of the frame. I laid the peg board down on the inside of the frame and Voila! After a couple minutes waiting until the glue dried I had myself a cute Peg Board for my craft room!

I also bought a whole "Peg Board Accessory Kit" at Home Depot for only $12 that came with more than enough hooks, cups, jars and more! I love my peg Board and hope you do too!!

Don't forget to follow me here at cute and crafty and keep checking back for more fun crafts from the craft room!! I will be posting about another giveaway tomorrow so don't forget to check back for a chance to win a free logo or banner!!

Design Love

So in case some of you didn't know, I'm also a freelance graphic designer. In my free time I like to do all sorts of designs, logos, banners, ads, and more. I love designing as much as I love to craft. Here's a recent one I did for "Art in the Park".

I charge $40 for a logo and $45 for a banner for your etsy shop or blog. From there I send a questionnaire to discuss with you what you want from things such as fonts to color to imagery. I then take your ideas and mine and create about 10 or more logos and from there you can make as many changes as you want to the logos until you're 100% happy with the end result. If your interested just shoot me an email or comment and we can discuss more.

Baby Cakes :)

So I'm sure everyone has heard the craze about cake pops and how simple and cute they are to make. Well over Christmas I was recently given a Babycakes Cake Pop maker by my mother-in-law, and I have to say, I'm in love!
I would not say I'm and expert cook or anything but this seriously was a blast to make. My sister just had a baby shower and I was extremely excited to have a reason to break this sucker in. And here was my cute results:

Aren't those lil guys so cute?

All you do is mix your box cake batter like normal. Then I used a large ziplock bag to dispense about a tablespoon of the batter into each indention, wait about 7mins and your small cake ball is ready! Simple as can be! Then all you have to do is stick a sucker stick in the middle, and dip them into some melted chocolate until completely covered and the Babycakes come with a small holder that you and place the sticks upright in, to let the chocolate dry. I dipped mine in white chocolate, and then I mixed some blue food coloring to make a few blue ones to write his name on. I then pipped on little eyes and a nose in brown icing, and used large blue flat sprinkles as a binkie and a small cupcake wrapper for a bonnet. They were definitely a hit at the party and the best part is you can make then ahead of time and because the chocolate creates an air tight seal around the cake, you don't have to worry about the cake drying out.

Another hit at the party was the center piece I found on Pinterest. I took one of the three wheelers that people are making and edited a bit to make a 4-wheeler instead since it was more fitting for the family. Everyone thought it was so cute.

We also made some of those cute onsies with the ties that everyone always loves for baby boys, which was so simple to do. We just used the iron on ties that you can find at hobby lobby and bought some plain white onsies, ironed them on real quick, there's a cute and easy gift that takes no more than 5 minutes to make, and doesn't break the bank either.

Here they are hanging on the clothes line we put up for decoration.

Anyways it was a very successful shower and we had a blast doing it. Until next time:)

Baby Soft Blocks

So I always see such cute baby crafts out there, but with me still being in school and not financially prepared to have my own, you can only imagine how excited I was to find out that my sister is having a little bundle of joys that I can spoil with all those cute baby crafts!
So here it is Soft Baby Name Blocks!

So here's what you need:

Depending on the name you need 6 5in x 5in squares per block.  I had six letters therefore I needed 36 squares.
Extra fabric to cut the name out of.
Scissors
Sewing Pins

Begin by cutting large chunky letters of your child's name out. If your not good with free handing letters, a little trick is to print out the name the size you want it, cut it out then just trace it. It's kind of like a cheat stencil. Once cut out, sew all the letters on one square for each block.

Once you have the entire name sewn on, you want to sew all the surrounding sides on. It should look something like this. ..

Then you're going to sew each of the sides together being sure to do all this inside out. Make sure you leave a small hole for the stuffing. Once all sewn together, pull it through the opening you left so now it is no longer inside out. Stuff the blocks to the softness you want. Then sew up the small opening once completely stuffed. The final blocks look like this!

If you want them to be more block like and less fluffy, you can use the chair padding foam that has a definite shape to make them more defined as a block.

Don't forget to follow me , so you can be entered in my giveaway I wrote about on earlier this week.
